  • All purpose flour: 2 cups
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/4 cup
  • Butter (unsalted): 1 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sugar: 3/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract (optional): 1 teaspoon
Cuisine: Cooking time: 30-35 mins Serving: 10-20 people

Initial Preparations:

  • Preheat oven 165 degree C.
  • Line baking pan with parchment paper.


  1. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa and salt.
  2. In another bowl, add butter and beat on medium speed for 5 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Add sugar and beat for 2 minutes, until very light in color and fluffy. Add vanilla if you like.
  4. Add the flour mixture and combine on low speed, until dough sticks together when squeezed with fingers.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic and chill until firm, at least for 1 hour.
  6. Form the dough into small balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for around 20 to 25 minutes or until firm.
  8. Cool completely on trays. Store in an airtight container.
