  • Ripe Banana: 1 (medium sized)
  • Leban (Moru): 4-5 cups
  • Turmeric Powder: half tsp
  • Salt
  • Grated Coconut: 1 cup
  • Garlic pods: 3-4 pods
  • Cumin powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Green Chilly: 1-2 (small)
  • Oil
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Small Onions: 2-3
  • Dried Red Chilly: 1
  • Curry leaves
Cuisine: Cooking time: 15 mins Serving: 4-5 people

Initial Preparations:

  • Peel and cut the banana into small pieces.
  • Grind coconut along with garlic pods, green chilly, a little turmeric powder, cumin powder and some curry leaves.



  1. Put the sliced banana in a pan with green chilly, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt.
  2. Add enough amount of water, close the pan with a lid and cook it until the banana pieces turn soft.
  3. Add the above ground coconut paste, mix well and allow it to boil in a low flame.
  4. When it starts boiling, add leban and dilute it with water.
  5. Add enough salt and remove it from fire.
  6. In another pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds.
  7. When it starts to splutter add sliced onions.
  8. Add dried chilly and curry leaves.
  9. Pour this over the prepared leban curry and mix well.
  10. Serve with hot rice.. šŸ™‚


  • If you need to make it bit spicier, add little chilly powder along with banana.
  • Add 5-6 fried fenugreek seeds for seasoning.
