Ingredients
Marination ingredients
  • Corn flour : 3 Tbsp
  • Rice flour (or Maida): 1 Tbsp
  • Soy sauce : 1/2 Tbsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste: 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Chilly powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Salt: 1/4 tsp
  • Hot water: 4-5 Tbsp
Other ingredients
  • Gobi: 300gm
  • Capsicum: 1/2 portion
  • Onion: 1 small
  • Green Chilly: 1
  • Ginger Garlic paste: 1/2 tsp
  • Spring onion: as required
  • SoyaSauce: 2 Tbsp
  • Tomato Sauce: 1 Tbsp
  • Salt: as required
  • Oil for frying
  • Cornflour: 1tsp

Gobi manchurian

 Initial preparations:

  1. Keep the cauliflower florets in to hot water, along with little salt for around 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare a medium thick batter by mixing corn flour, rice flour, garlic-ginger paste,  pepper powder, chilly powder, soy sauce, salt and little hot water.
  3. Cut the onion and capsicum in to small cubes.
  4. Mix the Cauliflower florets with the batter, keep it for sometime, say 15 minutes.

Steps:

  1. Fry the florets in oil until it turns slightly brown, drain the oil and keep it aside.
  2. In another pan heat oil (1Tbsp), add ginger garlic paste.
  3. Add onion and chilly, once the onion started to turn brown, add the capsicum. (Do no over cook the onion or capsicum).
  4. Add soy sauce and mix well.
  5. Add tomato sauce, salt (if required)
  6. Add the fried cauliflower florets and mix well with the sauce.
  7. Add enough hot water to the mix, depends on the required consistency.
  8. Cook in low flame for few minutes.
  9. In hot water, mix the 1tsp cornflour and add to the gravy, mix well until it is thicken.
  10. Garnish with spring onion.
  11. Enjoy it hot with fried rice or chappathi.

Tips:

  • If you require dry manchurian, do not add more water (step 7).
