Ingredients
  • Butter : 1 Cup
  • Caster Sugar (normal Sugar) : 2 Cups
  • All purpose flour : 3 Cups
  • Egg: 6
  • Baking powder: 2 tsp
  • Warm milk: 1 Cup
  • Baking soda: 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon Juice: 1Tbsp
  • Sliced Almonds: 1/2 Cup
  • Caster sugar/normal sugar: 2 Tbsp
Cuisine: Cooking time: 60 mins Serving: 10 people

Initial Preparations:

  • Warm the milk and keep it aside.
  • Squeeze the lemon.
  • Grate Almond to slice if you have it as whole.
  • Preheat the oven to 175 Degree Celsius.
  • Grease a 10 inch round cake pan.

Steps:

  1. In a medium bowl mix well butter and sugar until it is creamy you may use a spoon to do it.
  2. Stir in flour and mix well.
  3. Add eggs one by one, mix well after each.
  4. Add the baking powder to warm milk and add it to the egg mixture and mix well.
  5. Add baking soda to lemon juice, and stir it in to the batter.
  6. Mix well and pour the batter in to the greased pan.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
  8. After 20 min. sprinkle the Almonds and 2 Tbsp sugar over the cake.
  9. Bake for another 25-30 minutes.
  10. Once removed from the oven, cool the cake and transfer to the plate for serving.

Serve warm, one of the best tasting cake I ever made 🙂
