Ingredients
  • Tomato: 3
  • Shallots: 3-4
  • Dried chilly: 2
  • Grated coconut 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chicken/Meat masala 2 tsp
  • Chilly powder 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seed
  • Curry leaves
Cuisine: Cooking time: 15-20 mins Serving: 3 people

Initial preparation

  • Chop the tomatoes and keep it aside.
  • Slice the shallots.
  • Make fine paste with coconut, turmeric powder, chilly powered and chicken/meat masala.

Steps:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seed.
  2. Add sliced shallots and dried chilly.
  3. Add curry leaves and salute until the shallots turn brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes along with some water and salt.
  5. Wait until the tomatoes are cooked then add the grounded paste along with some water.
  6. Turn the heat in low flame, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Tips

  • Meat or chicken masala curry gives an extra fragrance and taste.
  • Goes well with warm rice.
