  • Ladies finger: 200 gm.
  • Egg: 1 No.
  • Shallots: 8-10 Nos.
  • Green chilly: 1 big
  • Dried chilly: 1-2 Nos.
  • Grated coconut: 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Salt: to taste
  • Pepper powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds
  • Oil
Cuisine: Cooking time: 20 mins Serving: 2 people

Initial Preparations:

  • Cut okra into small slices.
  • Beat the egg in a bowl and keep aside.
  • Chop shallots into small pieces.



  1. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds.
  2. Add dried chilly, curry leaves and green chilly.
  3. Add chopped onions, salt and saute well.
  4. When the color of onion turns brown, add chopped okra and mix well.
  5. Add a little water and cover the pan for 5-6 minutes in low flame, don’t forget to stir in between/
  6. When it is half cooked add turmeric powder followed by grated coconut, mix it well.
  7. Add the beaten egg into the mix and stir well.
  8. Add pepper powder and mix well.
  9. Turn off the flame once the okra is cooked.

Enjoy it with warm rice šŸ˜‰
